Hey, DA members. Today I saw about 30 journals in my submission box concerning the recent "rude" response of an admin while handling a trouble ticket about traced artwork.
Not one of the journals actually linked to the artwork.
One journal linked to a screenshot of the supposed conversation with an admin, and I didn't see anything particularly rude about the response at all. It more or less showed a neutral way of saying, "we don't believe it's a trace".
Here's a tip: if you're going to flip your lids and start pointing fingers at admins, it might be a good idea to actually link to the offending artwork so we can determine for ourselves if the artwork is actually traced or not. All I've heard so far is an endless stream of rage about how DA loves tracers and how much the admins suck. In bold underlined text.
I suppose I could waste my time trying to hunt down the drama myself, but it would be so much easier and more convincing if, you know, people would just show some facts and references once in a while. I'm interested in site policy and admin behavior, but I have no interest listening to a pack of impulsive pre-teens mulling about how much the world sucks.
Mob mentality is not a pretty thing. Don't let it happen to you.

Goodbye, DA
I had to retype this journal again, because DA ate my last one. Shocker. Anyway, thanks to the disaster that is Eclipse, my gallery is now inactive. Links to other sites where I post content is at the end of this journal. I'll be keeping some of my pictures online for now, but don't count on them staying for long. Thanks to all of you who watched me for so many years, but it's time for me to move on. I've already talked at length about my disdain for Eclipse (and so has everyone else), but it's clear that's pretty pointless. The only thing worth mentioning is that since the "Watch" box is so sluggish and it takes MUCH longer for me to sift through messages, I will likely be un-watching a number of people around here. Don't take it personally; I simply do not have enough time to wade through the large volume of messages with this new UI, especially since the new menu bar doesn't even show you how many messages you have, anymore. I also hate how Eclipse refreshes and screen and
Happy Birthday, Dreamcast
Yeah, I know it was released in Japan earlier, but here in the USA it was officially launched 20 years ago, on Sept 9, 1999. It was one of the few systems I bought on launch day, and I never regret it. Even with all the nostalgia, it's still very much underrated. Oh, and it still works great, despite its age... and clunky controller. 8)
20 years. Ouch.
Man, I miss when computers were fun. Thank goodness these old consoles can be expected to still work when they're properly cared for, and can still be enjoyed. Can't say the same about modern stuff.
Yeah, I'm old, and getting more nostalgic by the day. My new hobby is making my own 8
Eclipse sucks - may delete gallery
It's probably just a coincidence, but I went on vacation yesterday and logged into my DA account on a different computer today. When I did, I was presented with the new Eclipse UI. Since I'm not a Core member, this is the first time I've been able to really test it out.
My God... what a fucking disaster.
I'll refrain from a full critique. Over the last few months, there's been a major backlash of negative community feedback with regards to Eclipse, and DA has made it perfectly clear that they don't give a damn. My own comments won't change anything. All I'll say is that this new UI UX is about the slowest, buggiest, and most frustratin
40!
So... I guess I'm now officially middle-aged. 8)
I'm really proud of how well I've done with my diet over the last year, so you'd better believe I'll be taking a cheat day and pigging out on cake today!
